Extra Ordinary You

You Are Extraordinary
You are extraordinary! I have said it about you, and others have
said it about you at some time in your life. The question is: do
you believe it? You should! When you look at the complexity that
is you, you should be amazed every day. The reality is that all
that you are came free at birth. If you had to make a monthly payment
on your individual value, you could not afford the payment.
You Are a Complex Creature
A human being is the most complex living creature on earth-mainly
because of the brain. Humans can think and create; they can experience
emotions and love and caring; and they don't require drugs to enhance
these natural God-given abilities.
Familiarity Breeds Disbelief
Familiarity breeds contempt, or in the case of your potential,
it breeds disbelief. You wake up with you every morning, and you
go to sleep with you every night. You know all of your strengths
and weaknesses. You have seen yourself succeed and also fail. So
when confronted with a new opportunity, you go back to your bank
of knowledge about "You, Inc."
A New Day Is Dawning
You fail to see that every day is a new day, and every opportunity
is a new opportunity. You are functioning with an outdated operating
system. I just upgraded to Windows 10, and I now have new capabilities
that I would not have if I had remained with my old familiar XP
Change Your Password
It is time for you to upgrade and change your password. I mentioned
in a past article that every day is the first day of the rest of
your life. How you view and take advantage of each day will magnify
the person you become. Forget past failures and move forward. In
selling, when you make 300 calls on the phone, and you get only
50 contacts, and out of the 50 contacts, you get only 2.5 sales,
does it mean that you are a failure? Absolutely not! That is simply
the selling pattern-how selling works.
Be Willing To Continue
The failure personality stops making calls at 50 calls and blames
whatever and whomever for the lack of results. The successful sales
person continues to call, and call, and call. The difference between
a success and a failure is that the successful person continues
to make calls even though he is not getting immediate satisfaction.
The sad fact is that we live in a world where people expect success
without effort. Many people act like spoiled children and cannot
understand why everyone else is driving the big car and living in
the big house, and why can't they?
No Pain - No Gain
We all want as little pain as possible so that we can have as
much pleasure as possible. Life and the sales process does not work
that way. No matter how we try, we cannot fight the irrefutable
law of nature: No new input = No new output.
Believe in You
The first step to success is to believe that you are extraordinary,
and you can accomplish it - whatever it is. The second step is to
take action - to do something because nothing happens until you
do something. So stop waiting for someone else to do something;
you do it first, and you will be first in your field - you will
be extra ordinary.
No Participation Trophies
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison took away his two
sons' participation trophies. He feels that trophies must be earned.
Rewarding children for just showing up will not prepare them for
the real world. My clients do not pay me for just showing up. They
pay me for results, and I would not want it any other way.
